{{SITENAME}} aims to be a fun, safe, and inclusive place for everyone to play. In order to achieve this, we expect all players to follow the rules of our network. By choosing to play on Prism Party, use the website, or communicate in our Discord server, you must agree to follow the rules listed on this page.

=== Survival ===
{{Rule|1 - Do not disrupt gameplay|
==== Do not disrupt gameplay ====
Respect other players and allow everyone to have an enjoyable time on the server. Do not:
* Pester, annoy, or harass other players purposefully, especially if you are asked to stop. (Eg. Do not continue to kill or attack players who wish to be left alone or release the private information of other players.)
* Do not purposefully cause lag or build laggy structures (such as large automated farms and hopper arrays).
* Do not overload areas of the server with entities or attempt to bypass entity cramming.
}}
{{Rule|2 - No griefing|
==== No griefing ====
Griefing is the act of destroying or modifying one’s creation without permission. While playing on Prism Party, griefing is strictly forbidden. Griefing includes:
* Destroying any structure (claimed or unclaimed) without permission from the owner
* Killing/stealing livestock or animals in a private claim or near it
* Taking items out of someone’s chest (locked or unlocked)
* Building within 150 blocks of someone else’s land claim or town
* Harvesting crops/trees without replanting
* Claiming the blocks of another player’s build as your own
Claims belonging to inactive players expire automatically after a period of 60 days (Locks on chests, however, are indefinite). After this period, users may ask an admin to overtake an abandoned claim. Claims that are left abandoned for prolonged periods of time may be rolled-back and deleted to ensure the world has space for everyone. If you are concerned about losing your claim, you may create a ticket or alert an admin to your situation. Any structures that are subject to deletion will be backed-up first and later able to be restored should the owner become active later.
}}
{{Rule|3 - No spamming|
==== No spamming ====
Spamming is the action of sending repetitive or unwarranted messages. The following is considered spam:
* Sending duplicate messages over a short period of time
* Sending messages in rapid succession
* Long strings of keyspam (keyspam is fine by itself, but don’t send entire message-lengths of it)
* IP addresses or domains of other servers or websites not relevant to Prism Party (you may mention the names of other servers in conversation as long as you are not doing so to recruit players)
* Using the DiscordSRV (#survival, #creative, and #hub channels) when not engaged in a conversation, using it to bypass chat restrictions, or sending one-word messages
* Leaving and joining in succession (barring connection issues)
* Asking for ranks or staff positions in public channels
* Mini-modding (moderating/enforcing the rules in place of staff)
}}
{{Rule|4 - Keep the server appropriate|
==== Keep the server appropriate ====
Prism Party aims to be a safe and fun environment for all. As a result, certain topics and actions are not to occur on the Prism Party network.
* As minors may be present in the chat, all mature conversation (18+ topics) is prohibited.
* Vulgar and offensive builds are unacceptable.
* Heavy discourse, drama, and potentially triggering subject matter.
* Political discussion, partisan argument, etc.
* Mild/infrequent swearing is acceptable, however slurs and hate speech are not. Do not attempt to bypass the server's filter.
* No inappropriate skins, usernames (nicknames or IGNs), or items.
* Do not use Prism Party as a dating service or flirt with players inappropriately.
* Do not engage in inappropriate roleplay, or act out inappropriate scenes.
* Do not use proximity chat functions to circumvent these rules.
}}
{{Rule|5 - No screamers in proximity chat|
==== No screamers in proximity chat ====
The use of "screamers" and other auditory memes is strictly prohibited while using proximity chat within our server. Do not scare or harass users with loud or creepy sounds using the server's proximity chat features. As we lack the ability to mute players using proximity chat, users found in violation of this rule will instead be banned.
}}
{{Rule|6 - No game-changing mods, exploits, or hacks|
==== No game-changing mods, exploits, or hacks ====
While playing on our server, you are forbidden from using mods, hacked clients, or exploits which grant you unfair advantages over other players or substantially alter gameplay. However, certain mod categories are permissible and are listed below:
* Client performance mods - Mods which aim to increase the FPS or performance of the game client, such as Optifine or Gamma mods.
* Aesthetic mods - Mods which enhance the visual appearance of Minecraft. Shaders, Better Foliage, Ambient Sounds, etc. are allowed as long as they do not grant a gameplay advantage (such as making solid blocks transparent).
* HUD mods - Mods which add extra HUD elements to the display. Minimap mods (without radar), Compass GUI, health indicators, Better Chat, Potion/Armor HUDS are allowed.
If you have any questions regarding allowed mods, please contact a staff member!
}}
{{Rule|7 - Use server plugins and features as intended|
==== Use server plugins and features as intended ====
We use plugins to enhance gameplay and provide a unique and fun experience to players. We understand that it may take time to get used to certain plugins and gameplay changes, but please do not exploit the plugins we provide for personal gain or try to bypass moderation.
* Do not build AFK farms or circumvent chat filters.
* Don’t use plugin features unfairly. (This overlaps with other rules, such as no exploits or claiming structures belonging to others.)
* Do not abuse glitches or oversights to gain an early, or unfair, advantage over others.

{{Rule|1 - Be kind and respectful|
==== Be kind and respectful ====
Bullying, harassment, and the like is strictly prohibited. The things you say can seriously harm others, so keep the chat appropriate for all audiences and age-groups. For this reason, the following topics are banned:
* Potentially triggering topics such as rape, pedophilia, Nazism, politics and heated debate (Some non-political debate is acceptable, however keep it appropriate and composed.)
* Memes and jokes in bad taste (i.e. Any joke or meme which could be considered tasteless or offensive to a person or group. This includes “edgy” and dark humor.)
* Slurs, including ones rewritten as a joke
* Unrelated personal debate or drama (i.e. If you have an issue with a user that is unrelated to the server rules, talk to that user directly via DM or contact a staff member.)
* Berating any user on the sole basis of their gender, sexuality, or identity
* Do not share or link to photos focusing on other individuals without the permission of that person
Breaking this rule will result in an instant Mute/Kick/Ban depending on the offense. If you have any questions about a specific rule, please first message an admin/mod. Otherwise, keep it off the server.
Refer to the [https://discordapp.com/guidelines Discord Community Guidelines] for more.

{{Rule|2 - Keep the chat appropriate|
==== Keep the chat appropriate ====
Above all, this is a Minecraft community server. While individual ages vary, all conversation on this server must be suitable for minors. While moderate swearing is acceptable, all channels must otherwise stay “PG-13”. This means no NSFW or 18+ content. If you’re unsure whether or not content is unacceptable, please first message an admin/mod before posting. Sharing inappropriate materials will result in an instant Kick/Ban.
Furthermore, if someone is uncomfortable with a particular topic and asks for the conversation to change, please have the courtesy to do so without argument. It's important that this community be safe and welcoming for people of all ages.
}}
{{Rule|3 - No spam or advertisement|
==== No spam or advertisement ====
Disrupting the chat through spam is a bannable offense. “Spam” is defined as:
* Sending duplicate messages, or sending messages in rapid succession
* Repeating similar bot commands
* Excessive Emoji
* Using the DiscordSRV (<code>#survival</code>, <code>#creative</code>, and similar channels) when not engaged in a conversation, using it to bypass chat restrictions, or sending one-word messages.
* Long strings of keyspam (key spam is fine by itself, but don’t send entire message-lengths of it)
* Mass-mentioning a user or users (It’s acceptable to mention a user or mentionable-role [such <code>@BakiDance</code> or <code>@Staff</code>] a few times, but do not do so with the intent to annoy.)
* Mini-modding (moderating/enforcing the rules in place of staff)
* Advertisement or promotion outside of the dedicated <code>#promotion</code> channel.
}}
{{Rule|4 - Keep messages in the appropriate channel|
==== Keep messages in the appropriate channel ====
While this rule is only lightly enforced, please make an effort to start conversations in the appropriate channels. However, if a conversation later shifts into one not covered by the channel it originated, it is not necessary to move channels unless instructed to do so by staff.
Please delegate bot commands to the <code>#bots</code> channel.
}}
{{Rule|5 - Prism Party does not moderate off-server events|
==== Prism Party does not moderate off-server events ====
Prism Party does not, and will not, moderate on behalf of users outside the contexts of the Prism Party Minecraft server, Discord server, or relevant websites. While you are still encouraged to warn us if you feel a particular individual poses a threat to our community, we cannot be expected to ban, warn, or otherwise punish, people for situations that occured outside our jurisdiction. If an unsafe situation does arrise outside of our server, you are encouraged to contact the relevant authorities, be it Discord Trust and Support, or a trusted adult.
}}
{{Rule|6 - Staff have the final say on rules|
==== Staff have the final say on rules ====
Respect staff while on this server. If a staff member asks you to stop, please do so without question (even if the action in question is not covered in any server rules). If you disagree, or otherwise have any questions, please contact the staff member through Direct Message. In most cases, simply explaining the situation to staff outside of the server will assist both parties in explaining their sides. As long as you’re cordial, you cannot be punished for talking to a staff member via DMs!
}}
{{Rule|Disclaimer|
==== Disclaimer ====
In compliance with Discord Terms of Service and COPPA, minors under the age of 13 years are not allowed in the Prism Party Discord server. Users found in violation of this rule will be banned until they meet the age requirement. This ruling does not affect the Minecraft server.
