'''Incendium - Nether Expansion''' is a project made to completely revamp the Nether beyond what has already been done by the Nether Update. First released ''August 10th of 2020'', this pack adds 8 all-new biomes, and 9 new structures, and makes full use of jigsaw blocks to generate incredibly dynamic structures. This project is intended to up the difficulty of the Nether slightly, but at the same time make it much more rewarding to play there, especially for late-game players. Technical players will have a lot of fun designing new farms enabled by this pack, as well.

After learning about the added WorldGen tools of [https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki Minecraft] [https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Java_Edition Java] {{MCV|Edition=Java|Version=1.16.2}}, [https://www.stardustlabs.net/starmute Starmute] wanted to do a "Better [https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Nether_Update Nether Update]" and spent months learning and developing the {{BOLDPAGENAME}} Datapack, which quickly became an example, not only as a Worldgen Datapack, but also as an example of all of what was possible to create through Datapacks at the time, with new terrain, structures, mobs, items and functions.

=== Vanilla biome changes ===
To add to the overhauled terrain, {{BOLDPAGENAME}} overhauls some vanilla Nether biomes with new features and terrain. The main change being the "3D biomes", a change made in {{MCV|Version=1.18}} allowing to have different biomes in the same chunk but on different Y levels. Although this change was made for the new caves in the Overworld, {{BOLDPAGENAME}}, using the existing assets of {{Project|Project name=Amplified Nether}}, applied 3D biomes to the Nether, allowing you to have a [[Quartz flats]] roof over a {{L2MCW|Soulsand valley}}, but also allowing for new and unique biome like the [[Inverted forest]].

{{BOLDPAGENAME}} also makes use of the possibility of changing the terrain's height to make the Nether 192 blocks high, meaning x1.5 times the height of the Nether in Vanilla.
